1314 players from 44 countries participated in main tournaments of CZECH OPEN 2010.
Last year's winner GM Anton Korobov from Ukraine has won Main Grand Master Tournament PARDUBICE Open this year again. He was top seeded player and his victory was absolutely deserved. He is historically the first player who upheld the title. Five players shared the second place, but according to tie-breaks Swedish IM Hans Tikkanen took silver medal. He has achieved grand master norm after the eighth round. Bronze medal goes to young international master from India S.P. Sethuraman. The best Czech player GM Jiri Stocek placed the 10th position. 14 norms have been fulfilled (3xGM, 9x IM, 2xWGM). Hans Tikkanen (SWE), Pavel Potapov (RUS) and Mikhail Zaslavsky (ISR) fulfilled GM norm. The best senior in tournament was GM Janis Klovans (LAT), the best junior was S.P. Sethuraman (IND), the best woman was WIM Maria Fominykh (RUS).
First place in Open rating tournament Jansta&Kostka Open took FM Alexey Polschikov (RUS), Russian IM Nikolay Tolstikh took the second place and third was FM Leonid Nikolaev from Ukraine .
First place in Rating Open Ceska podnikatelska pojistovna took Kristyna Novosadova, second was Gennadiy Belousov from Russia and third finished Misa Hrenic from Slovenia

GM Shakhriyar Mamedyarov from Azerbaijan won blitz tournament Q2-AUTO IN Open.
Ehsan Ghaem Maghami from Iran won blitz tournament Q1-AUTO IN Open.
Blitz tournament became a prey of GM Sergei Movsesian.
GM David Navara (2731), the best Czech player and the 18th player of the world and GM Sergei Movsesian (2723), the best Slovak player and the 23rd player of the world were the top players in Open Czech Championship in active chess. GM Alexandr Rakhmanov (2590) became the winner of this tournament. The champion of the Czech Republic is GM Vlastimil Babula (2533).
The European Youth Chess Teams championship U18 was over the control of teams from Poland. Polish players won category of boys and girls too. Silver medal in category of boys went to Romania, bronze to Hungary. In the girl tournament silver belongs to Germany 1, third place stays in the Czech Republic.
IA Otto Gutdeutsch, who had been an arbiter in the CZECH OPEN International Chess Festival many years and the main arbiter of all CZECH TOUR series, suddenly died in the night from 24.8. to 25.8. in Brezova (SVK) Honour to his memory!
